Sand casting silver, fonte au sable de l'argent

The casting sand is packed in a wooden frame. The original stamp is carved in a piece of polyestyer resin and rubbed with graphite powder. I push this stamp into the sand, thus creating a cavity in which I cast silver.  

Le sable de fonderie est tassé dans un cadre en bois. Le sceau est sculpté dans une barre de résine polyester et enduit de poudre de graphite. Je l’enfonce dans le sable pour créer une cavité dans laquelle je coule l’argent.

Silver cross, croix en argent

I did a commissioned cross today for my friend Jonathan.
I started by sand casting a rough form. On the anvil I refined the proportions and finally finished it with the file.
The inner cross is done with a chisel.

J’ai créé cette croix pour Jonathan. J’ai commencé par couler une forme brute dans un moule au sable. Je l’ai forgé pour lui donner forme et affiné le travail à la lime. La petite croix du milieu est ciselée.
