Silver plate thickness: 0.7mm. I passed the plate 4 times into the press to achieve the desired form. I annealed the metal each time to avoid breakage. Roundish forms, that are not angular develop a regular 3D volume. I drill a hole in the back plate to avoid closed space that may cause explosion when soldering.

I use steel rods from discarded printers. The rod is cut and sized on the lathe. The design is shaped using the saw and files. I harden the steel by heating it to a cherry red then quench it in water. Only the tip of the rod is heated because the end that receives the hammer blows should stay tempered.
